Fáilte Refugees x Consider It Cakes are holding a great lockdown bakeoff in celebration of International Women's Day!


Consider It Cakes are a national community organization who believe everyone deserves a cake. They supply free birthday and special occasion cakes for people in emergency accommodation and direct provision in Ireland.

This year we are collaborating to bring treats to asylum seekers in Galway to celebrate IWD 08/03/21!

We are asking our members to bake treats such as queen cakes, rice crispy buns, rockyroads, tray bakes (anything that can be made into individual serving sizes!) to gift to residents in Galway! We will have a designated collection point in the city  on 6th and 7th of March which will be shared with those participating.

We do encourage all our members to partake and post their creations online and tag our social media accounts. However, this is a Covid-19 safe event so we kindly ask that only members within 5K of the city donate baked goods. We do encourage those who are unfortunately outside of the 5K limit to still partake and post online and enjoy their baked goods but perhaps make a small donation to MASI or another organisation that they see fit if they can do so!

We ask those participating to practice good hygiene, sanitise and take all precautions necessary when preparing their baked goods and to kindly refrain from participation if you are feeling unwell or are showing any symptoms.
