Guest Speakers Biographies:
Professor Martina Dickson holds a PhD in Medical Physics from the University of London and MA in Gender, Education and International Development from the IoE (UCL) in London. She is currently a Professor in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at Emirates College for Advanced Education in the UAE. Her research interests include gender in education and science pedagogy, and she has led a number of research projects over the last decade, including funded studies of academic parenthood, female STEM leadership, gendered choices and perceptions of scientists and science careers.

Dr Ye (Catherine) Cao received her PhD in Education from King’s College London. Her research interests are in engagement issues in science education and educational social inequalities. Additionally, she engaged with the research project of sustaining teacher quality and retention post-pandemic. Before joining King's College London, she obtained a Master of Engineering degree from Boston University in material science and engineering. She also worked in the Chinese education industry for two years, and is an academic Key Online Leader on a popular Chinese social media (Xiaohongshu) with 15k followers.
