Society Training Week Sept 25th - 29th
2 hour session: Everything you need to know about societies (all the general info, how socs work, where they fit into the university, what is the USCG, achieving your potential, awards, digital badges, on line training, IT developments, themed weeks opportunities etc
This will be a repeated session for 2 hours taking place 4 times, to give everyone an opportunity to attend.

4.00pm - 4.45pm The role of Societies in Smart Consent, an interactive exploration of societies duty of care to their members.
4.45pm - 6.00pm Dealing with conflicts
6.00pm - 6.30pm Understanding the Scheduel of Allowances and society funding entitlements.
6.30pm - 7.30pm Group work creating your society constituency performance.
1.30pm - 2.00pm Pizza and Refreshments
2.00pm - 4.00pm Master Class in Fundraising and Sponsorship with Jim Kelly
After a spell in retail banking, Jim enjoyed a thirteen-year stint managing brand communications and philanthropic efforts within AIB Group, where he had full responsibility for a number of national projects such as the Ryder Cup 2006 and the Better Ireland Programme. He also developed and managed the sponsorship department of the bank that included all areas of communication such as direct mail, advertising, PR and merchandising. In 2010, Jim was seconded to the Dublin Institute of Technology, assisting with the development of all external philanthropy and fundraising initiatives for the DIT Foundation. Jim left AIB Bank (and DIT) in 2012, to work as a communications consultant with the Central Bank of Ireland on a project basis. Jim holds a Bachelor of Financial Services Degree from UCD, is a Fellow of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and a past council member of the Ireland Funds. In 2012, Jim completed a Digital Marketing Course with the MII and is a member of many online business action group.
