The Law Society of NUI Galway was founded in 1920. Celebrating our 100th year, we are one of the largest academic & social societies on campus. Our aim is to assist students who wish to develop a range of legal clinical and social skills, through tailored events in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Welcome to LawSoc, the Law Society of NUI Galway!

We are one of the oldest and largest societies on campus. Now in our 100th session, our aim is to assist students who wish to develop a range of legal clinical and social skills, through tailored events to meet the interests and needs of our members.

With guest speakers, mooting clinics, volunteering opportunities, workshops and trips at home and abroad, we provide our members with a head-start on their career path. Whether you are an aspiring solicitor, barrister or are thinking of pursuing a different route following a Law degree, we will help you on your way, connecting you to firms, organisations and institutions.

We are proudly sponsored by A&L Goodbody and Matheson. Our corporate friends allow us to continue the hearty reputation of the society in keeping with our ethos of integration, education diversification and, most importantly, enjoying ourselves!

Despite these uncertain times, we have an exciting year of events ahead, ranging from our ever-popular Competitions Programme to Guest SpeakersClinical Legal Workshops, Social and Career EventsNetworking Opportunities, and so much more‚Ķ

We are proud to announce the launch of our podcast 'The Legal Lens with NUI Galway's Law Society' which is available NOW on Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iTunes and all great listening services. If you would like to get involved with our podcast, newsletter or other events, please do not hesitate to contact us in relation to Volunteering opportunities.

We look forward to welcoming all of our new (and returning) members in the year ahead. In the mean time, feel free to give us a like on our social media, say hello on campus, or drop us a line via email at lawsoc@socs.nuigalway.ie
