The NUI Galway Mature Students Society is open to any student who is over 23 years of age when enrolling at NUI Galway.
That’s it. No special skills required!
Undergraduates, postgraduates, access students, evening students and part time students are all welcome. The Mature Soc hopes to serve as a focal point for all Mature Students and provides opportunities for meeting and socialising with other students of all backgrounds and interests. We organise events such as 'Coffee and Catch Up' sessions, and cinema and theatre outings. The highlight of the year is our International Trip. Last year we went to Krakow in Poland; previous trips include Malta, Budapest, Romania, Edinburgh and Berlin. We also organise trips within Ireland, such as trips to Aras an Uachtarain and Leinster House.
In March 2016, 17 of us had a fantastic overnight stay on Inishmore in the Aran Islands; where we enjoyed the beautiful scenery in great company.
In November 2016, a group of us stayed overnight in Doolin, Co. Clare. We had a bracing hike along the cliff path to the Cliffs of Moher and spent a pleasant evening socialising in a Doolin pub.
