Friends of MSF (FoMSF) are student societies in universities and colleges around Ireland and the UK. We are the official student support organisation for Médecins Sans Frontières across both nations and are run on a voluntary basis.
Our aims are to:
- Raise Awareness of MSF’s work and humanitarian issues
- Raise funds for MSF
- Encourage students to consider working for organisations such as MSF
MSF exists to save lives by providing medical aid where it is needed most – in armed conflicts, epidemics, famines and natural disasters. All these situations call for a rapid response with specialised medical and logistical help. But, we also run longer-term projects, tackling health crises and supporting people where the need is greatest. We currently have projects running in over 60 countries.
Here you can find a copy of our Societies Safety Statement.
The society meets primarily for events to promote its objectives, such as to organise guest speakers, awareness campaigns or even our table quiz!
The committee meets every Tuesday at 5pm, message us if you'd like to offer an idea!
Anybody with an idea for an event, or who is willing to help out with an event, should contact
