Neurodivergent Society

Neurodivergent Society is a space where neurodivergent people can connect, share ideas and experiences, and be proud of our identities. We welcome all neurodivergent people and allies.

Neurodiversity is the idea that all humans have a level of variance in how our nervous systems operate. Neurodivergent people have brains that work in ways that are seen as different.

We embrace self-identification - if you identify as neurodivergent you are welcome.

Some examples of neurodivergencies are: ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Bipolar, BPD, Brain Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Depression, Down Syndrome, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Migraines, OCD, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Sensory Processing Differences, Tourette's. This is not an exhaustive list. We are not here to assess, evaluate, judge, or dismiss your identity. We are a celebration of neurodivergent culture and community.

We plan to organise regular social events designed with neurodivergence in mind. Accessibility and inclusivity are important to us and we welcome people who are multiply disabled and/or members of other minority groups.

Help us build a neurodiversity-affirmative community at NUIG!
